new photos

Filed under: Blog - Administrator @ 2:53 pm

I know it’s been a while, but it’s been good that I haven’t posted in a while. We have had lots of visitors over the past month. So I’ve made some new friends from Michigan, Iowa, Texas, and all over the place. We also did a lot of outreach with these groups and we witnessed to people from all over the world. Over the past month at the local college campus I have witnessed to people from: Finland, Germany, Spain, USA, Mexico, Venezuela, and France. (Sometimes it was in Spanish, sometimes in English; usually a combo of both) God has been super faithful in putting people in our paths to share His love with. God is doing some amazing things in this city, and I’m honored and humbled to be a vessel that He is using. The church and our small group are growing by leaps and bounds; we are seeing new people come to Christ all the time; and we baptized 3 members of our small group last Monday!!!
I have also added some new photos of the baptisms, kids in our poor outreach program, and some other random stuff. Enjoy, and I’ll be back with more stories soon…

busy bee

Filed under: Blog - Administrator @ 12:23 am

sorry, last week was another really busy one! we had a group of 10 visitors from a sister church at Texas A&M Univerisity. They were a lot of fun, and we shared the gospel with a lot of people! we hope and pray God waters the seeds, and gives us the strength to follow up and keep in touch with them all! They headed back to home on Friday morning. And I also snuck across the border for a little while. I was able to get permission to remain here for 180 more days! I will post a recap of some cool stories from the last couple weeks very soon. but i am tired, and fighting a cold; so i’m off to bed.

Pamela Returns…

Filed under: Blog - Administrator @ 11:36 pm

Actually I returned to visit Pamela, but that title sounds cooler.
In case you don’t remember, Pamela is my new best friend. She is a beautiful 6 year old with a heart of gold. She quickly stole my heart, and now Monday has become one of my favorite days of the week. Mondays from 11:30-1:30 we bring lunch to the kindergartners at a children’s home (kinda like an orphanage) and play with them for a little while. I am currently investigating how I can get more involved at this children’s home; and if I can afford the time/money it would require of me.
In other news…
Last week we had a group of visitors from a church at the University of Michigan. It was lots of fun. They were a small group and pretty laid back; so it wasn’t stressful at all. We got to evangelize with lots of people, and have made some new friends, new relationships, and some new converts!
I’ve got this week to get back to visit all “my kids” and this Saturday another group of visitors will come. What better way to use a spring break off of classes than to come serve in Mexico!! I’m looking forward to more Americans being around; and hopefully winning more people to Christ through them and their service!
Please pray for me this Saturday as I will be in charge of the youth group (jr. high and high schoolers). Normally this would not be a big deal; as I have experience in this area, and I love helping out every Saturday. But I’m a little nervous about the language issue. Teenagers are difficult to understand in English (due to poor pronunciation, grammar, and slang) let alone a second language. I’m not worried about the kids, they’re good kids, and have always respected me. I just want to be able to convey a clear message to them, and understand their responses and concerns. I think it will be lots of fun!
